About Ryan Rasmussen

Ryan Rasmussen
Zocalo Group Associate
Ryan is a digital native in the purest sense. The speed with which he adopts emergent technologies is matched by his ability to understand the underlying nature of the communities that support those technologies. He has earned the trust of many top influencers by facilitating collaborative innovation and ideation online, and continues to shape the future of authentic online engagement strategy.
As Associate at Zocalo Group, Ryan Rasmussen works directly with communities on behalf of clients to prime brand evangelists and identify new opportunities for sparking sustainable conversation. In addition, he plays a pivotal role in brainstorming creative strategies for current and new business, is chief architect of their Digital Footprint methodology for measuring multi-generational digital impact, and helps lead Zocalo's Digital Influence Group, an internal innovation team.
Prior to joining Zocalo Group , Ryan developed a full-blown digital word-of-mouth evangelist network on behalf of Levenger, a national catalogue retailer. He created a new position within the company charged with striking persistent, meaningful relationships with advocates throughout blogs, forums, social networks, photo and video sharing sites, and virtual environments like Second Life.
Ryan understands bloggers because he is one. At Collaborative Ideation, he forecasts the social implications of pervasive computing and the future of collaboration, and about the Long Now Foundation. He has co-authored two books on digital influence - The Age Of Conversation, and The Age Of Conversation II. He was featured in the July 2008 issue of Insight Magazine, in an article titled, "Co-Creation Theory: Brainstorm, Innovate, And Create The Ultimate Customer Experience."
Ryan also won Ketchum's Innovation Idol 2008 with his proposal for implementing subthreshold extreme gradual change video.
